- Why It’s Great: No special equipment required—just coffee grounds and water. This rustic method brings out a bold flavor.
- How to Do It: Boil water in a pot, remove from heat, add coffee grounds, stir, and let it sit for a few minutes. Once the grounds settle to the bottom, pour slowly into your cup.
Jetboil Coffee Press
- What You Need: Jetboil Flash Hiking Stove, Jetboil Coffee Press, Jetboil Fuel Cannister, drinkable water, finely ground coffee of choice
- Why It’s Great: Compact, lightweight, and easy to clean, the Jet Boil Coffee Press is ideal for camping. It makes a smooth, less acidic coffee.
- How to Do It: Heat water using the Jetboil Flash Hiking Stove and Fuel Cannister until just before the orange heat indicator reaches the top of the sticker. Once heated, place desired ground coffee into the hot water and insert Jetboil Coffee Press until ground coffee is submerged in the water. Wait 3-5 minutes depending on the strength you’d like your coffee then push the Jetboil Coffee Press all the way down to press ground coffee into the bottom of the container and pour your coffee into your desired cup or mug. Add milk or sugar to taste.
Portable Espresso Maker
- What You Need: Portable espresso machine (e.g., Wacaco Nanopresso), hot water, ground coffee.
- Why It’s Great: If you love your espresso shots, portable espresso makers are lightweight and create delicious coffee with little effort. Battery operated so no power required, except to recharge.
- How to Do It: Fill with hot water (you’ll need to heat this separately), add ground coffee to the portafilter, and pump to extract your espresso shot.
