How far is the Pinnacles from Perth?

The Pinnacles are located approximately 190km north of Perth. The drive directly from Perth to the Pinnacles should take you around 2 & 1/2 hours along the scenic coastal Indian Ocean Drive. What is there to do on the way from Perth to the Pinnacles?

If you want to turn your drive to the Pinnacles into an adventure, take the coastal route from Perth along Indian Ocean Drive. These adventures are found along or just a short detour off the main road. That way you can adventure and be back on your way towards the Pinnacles without too much extra driving.

Yanchep National Park

You don’t have to drive for long before you reach the Yanchep National Park, just 45 mins north of Perth.Yanchep National Park entry fees do apply, so you may also like to explore the park and meet the koalas, spot for kangaroos, enjoy a meal at the Yanchep Inn, enjoy a Crystal or Caberet Cave Tour or hike the Ghost House Walk Trail. Treetops Adventure Yanchep National Park

Within the National Park you can find the amazing Treetops Adventure Ropes Obstacle Course. With 70+ obstacles including 16 ziplines. Choose from at 1.5hr express session (during the day in the school term only) or a the Ultimate 2.5hr session. Gravity Discovery Centre Gingin

At the Gravity Discovery Centre, visitors can immerse themselves in a variety of experiences. The centerpiece of the facility is the Leaning Tower of Gingin, a 45-metre tall structure with 222 steps to the very top of the Tower. The view from the top across the Wallingup Plains all the way to the Darling Scarp is worth the challenging climb. Additionally, the centre boasts, interactive space themed exhibits and a space observatory equipped with state-of-the-art telescopes for stargazing sessions and celestial observations. Lancelin Sandboarding & Lancelin Bakery

The Lancelin Sand Dunes are just a short drive from the Indian Ocean Drive turn off and are worth a visit if you love sand boarding or want to give it a go. Don’t have a sand board? No worries. You can hire a sandboard for just $10 for up to 4 hours. You may also like to hire a quad bike or dune buggy and venture deeper into the sand dunes for some more sand boarding action.

 

 

Seabird Sunset Cafe

Take a break from the drive, with a coffee and a bite to eat on the deck overlooking the stunning Seabird coastline. The Seabird Sunset Cafe is open daily and is only a short drive off Indian Ocean Road and won’t add too much time to your trip.  Find more information on the Seabird Sunset Cafe facebook.

Hangover Bay

This secluded beach is perfect for a quiet picnic or a refreshing swim in its calm waters. The stunning coastal views and the peaceful ambiance at Hangover Bay make it an ideal spot to unwind before continuing your journey to the Pinnacles.

The Pinnacles @ Nambung National Park

Before exploring the Pinnacles on the Desert Walk Trail, make a stop at the Pinnacles Desert Discovery Centre. This visitor centre provides valuable insights into the unique geological formations found in the area. It offers interpretive displays, informative videos, and interactive exhibits.

After the visiting the Pinnacles Discovery Centre, take a scenic drive or walk through the park and witness the iconic Pinnacles up close.
