What type of accommodation is available at RAC Karri Valley Resort?

We stayed in the cabin accommodation during our stay at RAC Karri Valley Resort Pemberton, however there is also camping accommodation available. The campgrounds and resort are very seperate with the campgrounds located on the south side of the Vasse Highway and the resort located on the north side.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom forest cabin with views overlooking Lake Beedelup. The 3 bedroom cabins sleep 7 or 8 and there are 2 bedroom cabins also available that sleep 4. You may also like to stay in the Lakeside Rooms, they are located over Lake Beedelup. They have one bedroom and you can even fish from the balcony.

All cabins are fully contained with kitchen, bathroom, log fires or electric heating. Both powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites are available at the campgrounds, with powered ensuite sites also available.

One thing you will love about your cabin accommodation is the little visitors that come around everyday. You can get some bird feed from the Activities Centre to encourage them to come around and say hello.

Can you do the activities even if you aren’t staying at the resort?

You don’t have to stay at the RAC Karri Valley Resort to enjoy the activities provided. However the cost is a little higher for non-guests and guests to have priority for use of the recreational equipment.

Are there any adventure experiences outside the resort that are nearby?

The Beedelup Falls and Lake Loop walk starts at the RAC Karri Valley Resort and is a 4.5km round walk to the Beedelup Falls. The trail includes the infamous Walk Through Tree and beautiful karri forest and of course the picturesque Beedelup Falls are worth the walk You can return from here or continue on around Lake Beedelup and return to the Karri Valley Resort.

Also if you are keen to see the falls, but not so keen on the walk, you can access the Beedelup Falls via carpark on Beedelup Falls Road. Note: Beedelup Falls is found in the Beedelup National Park, so fees do apply and can be paid at the carpark on an honour system. Another option is to row a boat or canoe to the falls (you aren’t allowed to take the water pedal bikes to the falls unfortunately) from the Karri Valley Resort. We did this and it didn’t take very long at all, maybe 20mins there and 20mins back.

Pemberton Pool is located on the Lefroy Brook and alongside the Pemberton Mountain Bike Park and is only a few minutes drive from the Pemberton Town Centre. This pool was constructed in the 1920’s for the families of the timber workers and remains a popular Pemberton attraction today.

Gloucestor Tree is only 5 mins drive from the Pemberton Town Centre. You can climb this 53m tall tree, that is a retired fire look out tree and enjoy beautiful views over the surroudning karri forest and farmland. Note: Gloucestor Tree is located within the Gloucestor National Park, so park entry fees apply.

You can find information on other things to do in Pembertion at the Visitors Centre website.

Is there a restaurant or cafe at the resort?

The Lakeside Restaurant is located overlooking the beautiful Lake Beedelup, with big glass windows that give you an unbroken 180 degree view of the lake. While the accommodation is fully self contained, you won’t be able to resist dining here at least once during your stay for breakfast, lunch or dinner. You can also order your morning cuppa and there is a takeaway meal menu too. The Lakeside Restaurant welcomes day visitors and resort guests daily.

What is the best time of year to stay at the resort?

If you want to take full advantage of the both the water and land based activities at the resort and the surrounding areas then  early Autumn and late Spring are definitely best. These times it’s a little warmer for swimming but not too warm the other non water based activities and experiences. Winter is also lovely as you can really enjoy the log fires or internal heating while taking in the beautiful forest surrounds and fog over the lake. In summer you can enjoy swimming, early morning and evening fishing and relaxing in your cabin.

RAC Karri Valley Resort, offers a tranquil setting and a connection with nature all year round. We visited in late Spring (November) and it was warm enough to swim and enjoy the water recreational activities but not too warm for a nice hike to the falls and around the lake.

Can dogs stay at the RAC Karri Valley Resort or Campgrounds?

No. Unfortunatley dogs are not permitted to stay at the resort or the campgrounds. You can find a list of  RAC WA Resorts that have pet / dog friendly campgrounds here.
