Imagine, automatically saving and investing every time you spend! Well you can, and that’s what I love most about the Raiz Invest App. With roundups on everything I spend automatically debited to my Raiz Invest App Account, plus awesome rewards partners that give me cash back into my Raiz App Account, all then invested on my behalf. They even gave me $5 (sometimes it’s $10) to get started and I signed up for free (small monthly fees apply once your account balance is $5). Being ready for adventure means being financially ready. The RAIZ Invest App is one way, that’s low risk and low effort, to get your money working harder for you!

How does Raiz Invest work?
Raiz Invest works in 5 ways to help you save and have your savings work harder for you by
- Automatically setting up round ups so you save everytime you spend
- Investing your savings in a portfolio of your choice or in a portfolio you create
- Reinvesting your dividends to compound your returns over time
- Rewarding you with $5 (sometimes $10 during promotional periods) when you refer friends
- Paying you rewards when you shop with Raiz Rewards Partners
Round Ups
I set my Raiz Invest App to automatically transfer the rounds ups from everything that I spend (ie if I spend $4.50 on a coffee, 50c goes into my Raiz Invest App) when the round ups get to $10, from my transaction account.
I have also set up an automatic monthly savings amount to top up my account. Round ups and top ups can be adjusted or stopped at any time using your Raiz Invest App.
Rewards Partners
Raiz Invest App also has a range of reward partners, so when I spend with these partners through the Raiz Invest app, a percentage or flat amount is rewarded into my Raiz Invest App Account to be invested. Here are some of my favourites and some you may be spending with already.
- Raiz Energy – I received $46 invested when I connected my account with Simply Energy through Raiz Rewards when I moved house and I got a 50% gas discount (was previously 35%
- Virgin Australia 0.7% invested from any flight booked
- Booking.com 5.6% of your booking invested once you have completed your stay
- Groupon 2.8% of your purchase invested
- Telstra mobile up to $42 invested when you sign up for a new phone or sim only plan
Also Adidas, Apple, City Beach, Converse, Cotton On, Emirates, The Good Guys, Hello Fresh, Menu Log, Uber Eats, Uber, Pet Stock, The Body Shop, Travel Insurance Direct, Under Armour and many more.
How does Raiz invest my money?
The Raiz Invest App invests the money in my account accumulated from Raiz Rewards, round ups and top ups amounts I transfer, in a portfolio of ETF’s (exchanged traded funds) that include shares, indexes, bonds and bitcoin. Raiz also re-invests the dividends from these investments straight back into my Raiz Investment App to compound my returns. The average rate of return on the Raiz Invest App is currently around 12%. This is however varies dependant on the level of risk you set your account to. You can choose to set your portfolio to a risk level from conservative to aggressive.
I chose the Sapphire Portfolio so that I could include 5% bitcoin in my portfolio. While this does attract an additional fee each month (so far has been 40 – 50c per month) however the benefits of including bitcoin have far outweighed that extra cost.
Several weeks ago my 5% bitcoin grew to 12.5% bitcoin and the Raiz Invest App re-balanced back down to 5% right before the bitcoin correction and locked in my profits. This is the advantage of having the Raiz Invest App trade for you, they have all the knowledge, resources and technology to make the best trading moves for your account. You also have the option to build your own portfolio.
I can see the performance of my portfolio from the Raiz Invest App and it updates daily from the history section. The history summary includes, how much I’ve invested, how many dividends have been re-invested, the market return on my investment, Raiz Rewards I’ve received and how much I’ve received from referrals (yes that’s right they pay you $5 (sometimes it’s $10) when you refer your friend by sending them your invite link.
Can I take my money out of the Raiz Invest App?
Another thing I love about the Raiz Invest App that my investment is fluid, I can take it out or add to it at any time (it does around 2 -4 days to clear into my account). There is also the option to transfer my funds to the Raiz Kids Accounts I have set up within the app. I have it set to transfer a percentage of my account to my kids when they are 18 and I can change also this at any time. I can also change or stop the round ups at any time and stop or change automatic top ups too.
Is the Raiz Invest App secure?
The Raiz Invest App features bank level security and nothing is stored on my phone. The app is pin number protected just like a banking app and my funds are insured against criminal activity including cyber crimes.
Is the Raiz Invest App regulated?
The Raiz Invest App is regulated by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) and operates under it’s own Australian Financial Services License (AFSL 434776).
How much does the RAIZ Invest App cost?
So what does it cost? Well the Raiz Invest App is free to sign up. Once you’ve got $5 in your account (which Raiz will put in your account – sometimes it might be $10, if you sign up using this link), the Raiz Invest App starts investing your account balance, and you only pay $4.50 per month (or 0.275% per year on accounts over $20,000) for the service of your automatic round ups and management of the investment of your account balance. Personally I have found the $4.50 per month is more than worth it for the round up service that forces me to save, and now my balance has grown the returns, rewards and dividends reinvested far outweigh the monthly fee.
